|| The Love of Guns
Civilian firearms per 100 people & homicide rate per 100,000 people
The United States leads the world when it comes to firearm ownership, with almost 90 civilian-owned weapons per 100 people. While it is true that homicide rates in the US are higher than in many other developed regions, they pale in comparison to many poorer countries. Those in Latin America and Africa suffer from some of the highest rates of homicide per capita, despite often featuring on the lower end of the gun ownership scale. So, do guns make for a safer or more dangerous world? That is a question left for you to decide.
